NIEUWS – Het is eerder een gerucht geweest, maar het is nu officieel. Logitech gaat de Squeezebox productlijn be\u00ebindigen en verder met de Ultimate Ears-serie. Deze volgen uiteindelijk alle streaming-producten op. Wel bijkomend voordeel: bezitters van de Squeezebox Radio kunnen simpelweg een update doen en zo genieten van de firmware van de Smart Radio.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"logitech-ue-smart-radio\"<\/a>Het feit dat Logitech stopt met de Squeezebox-serie wil niet zeggen dat er geen ondersteuning meer is. Die blijft wel (hoe lang is niet zeker). In het schrijven laat Logitech weten dat de producten wel naast elkaar kunnen werken, maar niet met \u00e9\u00e9n app te bedienen zijn. Wij gokken erop dat de nieuwe lijn gewoon met upnp werkt, in tegenstelling tot de Logitech Squeezebox die met een eigen server werkt. Wat niet heel handig was naar onze mening.<\/p>\n

We zijn erg benieuwd naar wat Logitech \/ UE gaat brengen. We hopen op een leuke concurrent voor Sonos met een iets gunstigere prijs. Ze hebben genoeg kennis in huis om dat voor elkaar te krijgen. Nu nog een goed ontwerp en vooral een goede interface en gebruiksgemak.<\/p>\n

Hieronder de ‘brief’ aan de bezitters van een Logitech Squeezebox<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We?ve recently announced our new brand, Logitech UE, and with it merging the design\/engineering capability of Logitech with the music know how of Ultimate Ears. We are positioning this new brand to serve\u00a0music lovers across a wide range of music listening devices, and\u00a0amongst them the\u00a0Logitech\u00ae UE Smart Radio.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Logitech\u00ae UE Smart Radio\u00a0is a dedicated music device that can play Internet Radio, online music services and music from your PC or Mac ? all in one simple, unified interface.<\/p>\n

As you may notice, it is the same industrial design as the Squeezebox Radio. None the less, some significant changes have been made<\/p>\n

First of all, the new\u00a0Logitech\u00ae UE Smart Radio\u00a0now comes with a rechargeable battery that lets you take your music with you around the home, with up to six hours of continuous playback. The software has been fully redesigned to provide easier setup along with more intuitive navigation and engagement ability on the radio itself and from our entirely new mobile apps, ?Logitech UE Smart Radio Controller for iOS and Android.? Lastly, our new product website (www.uesmartradio.com<\/a>) has been redesigned to focus on seamless setup of Music services and personal music libraries.<\/p>\n

Important for you to know, the Logitech UE Smart Radio can play alongside your Logitech Squeezebox products, but will operate and be controlled as two separate systems. The team is working hard on releasing in a few weeks an optional software update for existing Squeezebox Radio users. This update will allow Squeezebox Radios to upgrade to the new Logitech UE Smart Radio experience.<\/p>\n
