Radio is still very much alive, but it’s increasingly digital and connected — as shown by the new Panasonic RF-D40.
Nowadays, more and more radios, whether portable or not, feature internet connectivity. What used to be a fairly expensive option is now hardly noticeable in your wallet. Take the new Panasonic RF-D40, for example. This internet radio — a classic stereo tabletop model — comes equipped with a DAB+ tuner as well as an FM tuner. In addition, it features web radio, allowing you to listen to stations from all over the world as if they were broadcasting right next door. The device is nice and compact (268 x 160 x 108 mm), and offers a maximum output power of 2 x 6 Watts.
Bluetooth
Another practical feature is the built-in Bluetooth module (version 5.3, to be precise), enabling you to stream music directly from your phone or other devices. A convenient 6-inch color display completes the package. Thanks to its alarm clock and sleep timer functions, the RF-D40 also feels perfectly at home on a nightstand.
The Panasonic RF-D40 comes with a very reasonable price tag of just €129, so that certainly won’t be a dealbreaker.
