The test setup

We set up the dCS in combination with the Focal Sopra No1, Bryston 4B SST3 and cables from Audioquest, Grimm and Kemp. We didn’t need our Pass Labs or Metrum stuff, because the dCS actually does everything except amplify. Of course, we did listen to what’s better. We can be brief about that: the dCS easily wins from the Pass Labs XP-12 with Metrum combination. Yeah… shocking. Especially if you take into account that the dCS at the bottom of the line is a lot cheaper and in this case you still have a headphone amplifier extra. It also hurt us for a moment… But that’s the way life is.
