We connect the Elac Debut 3.0 B6.3 to our integrated Moon amplifier via a set of Driade Flow 405 speaker cables. We place the speakers 2.50 metres apart and sit at the same distance. As always, we only use a slight angle to tune in the speakers, past the ears, the best compromise in our space between a wide stage and good focus. Elac suggests an equilateral triangle and recommends keeping the speakers away from walls. Always sound advice, of course. Take your time when setting up these speakers as there is a lot of profit to be made when you get it absolutely right. Also make sure you have a nice stand as this speaker deserves it.

The monitor audio is tuned to clarity and detail. Impressive, but to my taste less engaging. Both speakers are neutral, but flavoured differently. Monitor Audio is brighter, Elac has a bit more warmth. For me I would get the Elac if given the choice between just the two. My general taste goes more to Dynaudio than Monitor Audio or Focal.
And of course it is less than half the price
thank you for your reply Marc, and what other options would you consider to pair with Marantz Cinema 60, please? As for the bookshelf, my other candidates are Sonus Faber Lumina II and Dynaudio Evoke 10 … but these are higher than my budget 🙂
When I read this Elac review I wondered if I would not get 95% of the performance for half the price as you perfectly noted 🙂
thank you for a great review, I had an Elac Debut 6.2 speaker and it was great. How would you compare them with Monitor Audio Silver 100 7G, please? Thanks
