Elac Uni-Fi Reference UBR62

We decoupled the Elac UBR62 with a pair of IsoAcoustics Aperta stands and this speaker really benefits from that. The biggest gain is in the low frequencies, which now come through a bit more detailed and refined.

We replace the standard bridges with a set from Qed. The speakers are slightly toed-in with the tweeter along the ears instead of directly to the face. In our room most speakers sound great, positioned like this, but it can of course be completely different in your room. In any case, like this, the stereo image is nice and wide but still with all the focus we expect from a bookshelf speaker.

Our reference system:

We mainly use CDs but also stream and have some hi-rez files on usb. Other speakers we used during the test were the Bowers and Wilkins 606S2 and the already mentioned Elac Carina BS243.4.
