The Keces E40 seems to us a fantastic amplifier for those who like to listen to rock music. As most music lovers know, the recording quality of this genre often leaves much to be desired. With the Keces E40 thinner recordings get some more thickness. Some added weight, mas gravitas, whatever you wanna call it. Even those who often listen at low volumes will find the ideal partner in the Keces E40.
In addition, as already noted, this amplifier does an excellent job with a fresh or somewhat cold monitor. A monitor that can use some extra punch and balls. And of course you can easily put this amplifier on the desk to use as the basis of a very fine, compact set-up.

The Audiolab 6000A, which we value highly, has a bit more energy, is a bit more fierce but has a bit less foundation at the bottom. The stereo image is just a bit wider with the Keces and the intelligibility higher with the Audiolab. Different accents. Like the Keces, the Audiolab can be sophisticated and draw you into the music. You can easily listen to both amplifiers for hours at a time, which is a big advantage as far as we are concerned.
The Audiolab 6000N is of course a completely different device. It has full size, an OLED screen, a very good d/a converter and many more connections. That’s why it’s a more complete device for us, but a bit more expensive. Choosing between the two is difficult and depends on the type of speaker and the functionality you are looking for. In any case, the Keces E40 has pleasantly surprised us and is not inferior to the Audiolab 6000A in terms of reproduction. A fine achievement.
