With the 600i, MOON has an interesting amplifier. No frills. Pure analogue. And only line inputs. That’s a statement. But also a bit of a dangerous one. Because if you are looking for a complete system, next to the MOON 600i, you will still need a 680D for digital sources and streaming. That still requires an investment of 9500 euros plus cables. And if you like vinyl: then there is the need for an extra phono stage. And some cables. That makes the whole thing – including speakers – just very expensive. But also very high quality. We could live perfectly well with a 600i and 680D. Nice stuff! So just like the 700i, an Alpha Approved!
Conclusion
MOON can make a nice little amplifier. This 600i V2 proves that again. It shows the same openness, speed and energy we hear in the 700i. Just with a little less power. That's already worth an Alpha Approved!We think it's a statement that MOON chooses a purist approach. It is a small risk, because no phono and dac ensures that the customer has to understand the product and must be prepared to purchase a seperate dac / streamer. Fact is: the MOON 600i sounds very good: very rhythmic, energetic and fast.
