Let’s just do it, even though our MOON 600i v2 is four times more expensive. You hear differences, of course. More authority especially, more control too, more power, more refinement, more calmness… All those audiophile things we always talk about.
But, and it’s a big but, the 250i v2 is more fun than the more serious 600i v2 and also plays more open. We didn’t see that coming. With an expensive speaker, it doesn’t blink for a second, and there is enough power to play pretty loud without distortion. It also has some additional strengths with its phono input and headphone jack. The 2023 MOON 250i v2 is a full-fledged opponent for the competition in this price range.
For whom
If you are someone who is rediscovering the joys of vinyl, then the MOON 250i v2 is definitely worth considering. Or maybe you have a nice dac that you want to connect to a quality amp, then the MOON 250i v2 again is a serious candidate. Do you like to have the best possible sound for as little money as possible. Try the MOON 250i v2 and you’ll have to look hard to do better.
Of course, your speakers should form a good combo, but the 250i v2 is not a difficult amp to match.
You are also buying an amplifier with charisma and panache that you will enjoy looking at as much as listening to. Still not convinced? Let’s throw in a 10-year warranty. Ow, and don’t forget every amplifier is handmade in the factory in Toronto, Canada.

Hey Geoffrey, excellent and informative review. Thanks for the hard work. This Moon is now on my radar screen, largely thanks to Martijn’s stellar advice. Can you tell me which Revels those are: 106 or 126be? Gracias
Alan
Very nice amp and review! I really like Moon products for their looks, build quality, sound and 10 year guarantee. Especially the products without a display. Because even really expensive equipment sounds best when the display is switched off. Interestingly the 250i v2 sounds more open than the 600i v2. More expensive equipment closer to the edge are probably more demanding and sensitive to cabling, loudspeaker choise etc.
I don’t understand the limited power (at the cons) when the sound quality is 100% it must be stable than.
