We know Supra’s cables as nice, open, fast and clean. They are no-nonsense products. And we like that at Alpha. No frills.
The Sound by Sweden Nitro X is a headphone that in terms of looks certainly fits that bill. But in terms of reproduction, it tends toward the warmer side. Not overdone – definitely not a “Beats” sound – but a touch of warmth…. Probably to achieve a convivial sound that many users agree with. And to realize a reproduction that makes longer listening possible. After all: when you travel you want peace and quiet. And you listen differently than with a hi-fi system where you really sit down…
Layed back
So the playback is best described as relaxed, touch of cream…. pinch of salt… A nice, balanced flavoury pallete, to taste so to speak. It certainly does not get in the way of the music and it makes listening a pleasant relaxing activity.
As reported, these headphones are mostly in use by your author’s son. Now we’re not going to say that we have locked him in a room since baby to force him to listen to “good sound,” but we can’t deny that he is confronted with it on a daily basis. And so, of course, it creeps in. By now, ‘normal’ headphones aren’t good enough. Although Youtube still regularly plays through the built-in tablet speakers…. it’s a wacky generation.
We did not hear any complaints during the long test period – including this past vacation. When we asked for opinions, we got a “satisfied nod,” meaning that everything is ok. A kind of Junior Alpha Approved, in other words. :-).
The battery also proved itself: no recharging was needed, which is quite impressive! Your author played both via cable and bluetooth during various listening sessions with music and movies. When used more intensively with noise cancelling, a battery naturally lasts less long.
Completing
All in all, we find the Supra – Sound by Sweden – Nitro X a pleasant headphone. The playback is realaxing and the noise cancellation is remarkably good. What especially struck us is how comfortable these headphones are. What a comfortable over-ear this is!
