The test setup
Contents

The best way to test this type of headphone is via a smartphone and bluetooth. We used both MacOS and Android phones and several streaming apps: Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify.
We tested the wired connection with our Alpha Personal Audio reference set:
- EarMen CH-Amp
- EarMen Tradutto DAC
- EarMen PSU-3 power supply
- Mutec MC-3+ USB interface and reclocker
- Isotek EVO3 DC blocker
- Isotek Gemini power block
- Isotek and Supra power cabling
- Interlinks and coax cabling from Mogami and Sommer respectively
- Playback application: Audirvana Studio
An avid reader will remark that this set might be a tad overperforming to hook up a €50 headphone. Indeed, a single cable in this system is already more expensive than this TOZO over-ear. At the time of writing, the HT2 is on our desk next to the Yamaha YS-H5000SE that has a price tag for which we can order 110 copies of the TOZO HT2.
And yet we adhere to the principle of playing each review sample on the same reference set. We do the same with speakers. We know this set very well and so can come to a good assessment.
