The new Chord Company EE1 Plus network noise filter is a passive device designed to be placed at a ‘strategic’ point in your network setup.
For example, you can place the EE1 Plus between your router and switch, or between a switch and your streamer. The idea behind this passive filter is to protect the connected downstream devices from unwanted electrical noise. It works—like many devices in this category—by converting that noise into a small amount of heat. To achieve this, the manufacturer employs a common-mode filter along with their patented ARAY technology. Additionally, the EE1 Plus features galvanically isolated input and output ports for optimal signal integrity.
The unit is built into a precisely machined aluminium enclosure and sits on two vibration-isolated feet.
The Chord Company EE1 Plus retails for €799. For those who find it familiar: the filter itself is actually produced by English Electric, not Chord Company.
