We test the Hegel H95 on our reference speakers: the Focal Sopra No1. Unfortunately we haven’t had enough time to change during this review. Holidays, hustle and bustle and the relatively short review period were in the way this time. Anyway, we got a good idea and were able to make samples.
We have the Hegel H95 both digital and analog connected. At the analog input, the signal first goes through the Metrum Acoustics Ambre and Metrum Acoustics Pavane. Digitally we use the Coax output from the Metrum Acoustics Ambre. Of course we also streamed via Ethernet to the Hegel. This goes via both UPnP and ROON (Airplay).
Whether Hegel will add Roon-compatibility to the H95, we don’t dare to say. Also for the H390 and H590 it is not there yet. We hope they manage to add it. That would help the company and the users anyway.

Hi! Could you update the audio samples?
I am interested in Hegel and Primare amps. Both brands do amps with analogue and digital Dacs. Including your review of Hegel H95. you also reviewed/ auditioned the Primare Prisma I15 among other amplifiers under 2500Euros. How would you describe Hegel sound presentation in comparison to Prisma sound presentation?
Out of the beginning lower models of Hegel and Prisma which amp would drive ATC SCM 11 & 19 properly..? (I can’t afford Hegel H190 so I suppose I mean Hegel H95 or H120 or Primare Prisma I15)
Thanks for all the Audio work you do most interesting….!
