Measurements and conclusion

We measured the System Audio Legend 7.2 Silverback. We did so with the new setup with the CLIO 12 and Prism dScope III. The microphone is a DPA 4091. The CLIO 12 has its own output and microphone pre-amp. For the Prism, we used the Grace M108 as the mic pre-amp. The output of the Prism itself went directly into the System Audio. This has an XLR input for each speaker. This goes through an A/D converter. We see a very short delay from this A/D converter, which is not surprising.
The System Audio was not measured against the wall. That proved to be impossible and impractical in our space. But given that the speakers are already in their enclosure — they are neatly finished on-walls — that’s not a problem.
The measurement shows a “laid back” tuning, which is what we heard. A full bass, slightly tuned back midrange and some extra high energy. Everything sits / – 2dB which is neat. Since the bass is a little rounder, we see more energy there too. And also a little more resonance in the mid bass, as seen in the waterfall. So for tight bass, a solid wall is a good idea.
