The Wharfedale Linton Heritage measures neatly for a loudspeaker in this class. Distortion is quite low. Of course it is present in the lower area, but that is with almost all speakers, except (ultra) high-end. What does stand out – and maybe that’s where the ‘direct’ midrage originates from – is the 3rd harmonic around 1500 Hz. That one hits almost 1%. The warmth we experience is visible at 50 Hz where we see a dominant 2nd harmonic.
The response is pretty straight. We see a slight bump around 10 kHz. That gives air and openness. Off axis that is gone, but then we see it around 6 kHz. All in all fine for a loudspeaker in this class.

Is imaging below average or it is weak compared to the best?
Does the drawing improve with stronger column twisting? I read on stereophile that the speakers must be tightly twisted inside for the best/correct stereo reproduction. Did You try it ?
